The HOW
  1. Competitive Research: I first compiled a comprehensive list of both direct and indirect competitors. This included apps targeting the same college-town demographic and those offering similar social networking functionalities.

  2. Target Audience Analysis: I then refined the list based on the target audience. I only retained apps catering to college students and aligning with Playhouse AR's vision for social networking.

  3. Social Listening: I used Semrush to thoroughly analyzed each competitor's company profile, website, and social media presence. My research focused on identifying their target audience interactions and the elements that resonated with their users. Notably, I documented the key differentiators each competitor claimed.

  4. Feature and Gap Analysis: I conducted a detailed comparison of our app's features with those of our competitors. This analysis examined the features themselves and their underlying values in relation to the overall app vision.
